Background:
I have taught K-2, Title 1 and gifted clustered students for 35 years in the Becker School District. I loved teaching in my classroom where the students kept me young and laughing. Daily my students learned to use technology and enjoyed using the class website, First Grade Online, for Internet inquiries, to display their work and to communicate with their parents.
For the past 15 years as a consultant and trainer, with a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, I have been helping teachers throughout the nation learn about technology, the Internet and creative uses for them in the classroom. I enjoy presenting and collaborating with others. I am currently a Tech Tutor and formerly a Grade 1-2 Teacher Mentor on Scholastic.com. I serve on Scholastics National Advisory Board, Apple Distinguished Educator National Advisory Board, and the Apple Learning Interchange Editorial Review Board. I also have served on the International Reading Association's Technology, Communication and Literacy committee. As a researcher and developer for the Minnesota Teacher Network, I am working to help other teachers throughout the state communicate and learn online.
